I look forward to supporting you. Together we explore your challenges, intentions, wishes and heartfelt desires.
“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
Viktor Frankl
The trauma-informed NARM® counselling I offer is not about peak performance or self-optimization. I support you in the here & now to be yourself, to feel yourself and to strengthen your self-contact as well as to exlore your needs.
The foundation of my work is my open-hearted approach and the NeuroAffective Relational Model NARM®. Gestalt therapy, trauma-informed, systemic and needs-orientated elements are also incorporated into my work.
My counselling style is characterized by a holistic and humanistic approach. Body, mind and soul make every person whole and are therefore all the focus of my work.
With benevolence, affection and my presence, I am in authentic contact you. I will stay fully present with you and will not leave, no matter what happens.
Together we explore your challenges and intentions in a dialogical and process-oriented way. I accompany you on your path. I am sensitive, curious, present and benevolent, being here for you with my open heart.
I hold the space to give you the support that you can make new experiences and therefore overcome your personal challenges on your own responsibility.
Just talking about a topic has many limitations and that's why I accompany you into feeling and exploring yourself.
I am curious...what do you deeply wish for? Together we will explore what is currently getting in the way of meeting your needs and heart's desire(s).
As a counsellor and NARM® Practitioner I am not an all-knowing expert. I will work with you to develop new solutions and we will research new ways of experiencing, integrating and behaving for you and implementing them in your everyday life.
There are situations, conditions and circumstances in life where intellectual understanding and willpower cannot help us any further. There, old strategies stand in our way - which were necessary in the past, but now prevent us from using our full potential with our adult consciousness and emerging authentically in connection (with ourselves and other people).
As humans, we often carry wounds from childhood as well as survival and adaptation strategies that significantly shape our identity. Although these survival and protection strategies once ensured our survival when we were children, they sometimes create significant challenges as we grow up and also into adulthood. In most cases, we only face them when a certain level of suffering is occurring and not disappearing.
Often our (interpersonal) relationships bring us into contact with unprocessed feelings. Then the own desire for change, to develop a better quality of life and more opportunities, can be the driving force for coming to terms with your own wounds and survival strategies.
In some situations in adult everyday life we react seemingly inappropriately to something that was experienced as dangerous in the past and could not be integrated, not relating those patterns to our past adaptations.
We react in the here and now with the same protective strategies that ensured our survival back then. Our system, the body and the nervous system, does not recognize that we are no longer in danger in the here and now, but are now able to act. To a certain extent, we are stuck in the past with our reaction patterns.
Depending on how early the wounds arose in our lives, our survival and protection strategies have been with us for so long that we don't even recognize them as such. We interpret them as our peculiarities or character traits that shape our identity. They also influence our 5 core needs: connection, attunement, trust, autonomy, love & sexuality.
Nature arranged this quite intelligently/smart: As children, we did everything we could to maintain the bond and connection with our parents. The support of our parents was necessary for our survival. Therefore, we automatically did everything to be loved by our parents. Whatever that was - it unconsciously shapes us still into our adult lives.
As a child, however, we did not question our parents and their capacities and abilities as well as our environment, but rather ourselves. This results in survival strategies such as adaptation, self-rejection, self-devaluation and destructive beliefs, such as: “I am not good enough.” “I’m not welcome.” “I’m wrong.” “It’s my fault.” “I must always be strong.” “I'm not allowed to be angry / joyful / sad / sensitive / vulnerable.” “I have no place and I don't belong .” “I have no right to my needs.” “I feel ashamed when I need something.” “I feel ashamed when I don't meet other people's expectations.”
Such deeply rooted dynamics have far-reaching consequences that negatively influence our experience of aliveness as adults and all essential areas of life. The good news is: you’ve already survived the worst. The unpleasant news: Unfortunately, your (nervous) system doesn’t know this.
My trauma-informed support enables you to explore and train the capacities of your experience and thus also the reactions of your system (body and nervous system). In this way, you will gradually learn to deal with (old) oppressive, stressful and disturbing behaviors in a new way. New scope for action and choices arise, which go hand in hand with greater self-efficacy and an increased quality of life.
You decide for yourself when you want to book a session with me and then after each session whether and when you want to book the next session.
I offer NARM® counselling sessions in my practice in Leipzig (Germany) and worldwide online via VideoCall.
With me you don’t have to wait long for an appointment. You will usually get an appointment within 2 weeks. Emergency appointments within 24 hours are possible, but limited.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or via email.
Alternatively, you can also book a free discovery vido call. During this conversation I will gift you 20 minutes of my time and attention and we will explore together whether the type of support I can provide might align with what you are looking for.

“Robert is very approachable and understanding. Highly recommend his services!”

“Before meeting Robert I was very sceptical of therapy. But his approach taught me how to look at things I wasn’t aware of before, and identify meaningful things that had been in front of my eyes for a long time but still remained in the dark. His approach is very down to earth and realistic, supportive but not pandering. He also showed great flexibility in terms of scheduling and language, highlighting his genuine commitment to support his clients.”
